Richard Thomas Ward

Richard joined the United States Air Force after graduating from high school in 1963 and was stationed in Wichita, Kansas. On December 16, 1966 he married Betty Jean Fees Ward in Wichita, Kansas. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University and worked as a Commercial Loan Officer with the Small Business Administration. Rich attended Faith Bible Church.

Rich enjoyed volunteering for the Peoria Park Board. He spent time with his retiree friends and playing weekly poker games at the VFW.

Richard Thomas Ward is survived by his loving spouse of fifty-three years, Betty Jean Ward; two children, Chris and Julie (Chris V.), grandchildren, Megan and Madison, by his sister, Carol Garrymore, and by his sister-in-law Loli Ward, and by his nieces and nephews. Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas Martin Ward, May Evelyn Ward, and brother Dennis Martin Ward (Loli).

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 10am with a Funeral Service will follow at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ, 85301, with Pastor Dan Lind officiating. A private Committal Service will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona
