Born on February 9, 1933, Robert was the cherished son of William and Mette Layman. He was welcomed into the world with two older siblings, a sister named Hazel and a brother named Richard, who were both adults at the time of his birth.
Robert embarked on a distinguished career path by joining the Army immediately after graduating from high school. Following his military service, Bob dedicated his professional life to working as a civil engineer, a career he pursued with diligence until his retirement.
In March of 1958, Robert married Irene Rose, and together they made their home in Arizona. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership until Irene's passing in June of 2019.
A graveside service in honor of Robert's life will be held at West Resthaven Cemetery, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, on August 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
Robert's memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to inspire.
