Shirley Ann Douglass

Shirley was born March 29, 1948 in Pangburn Arkansas, to Willie and Chester Moore. The youngest of four children. At a very early age her parents moved the family to Arizona. At the age of 16 she met and married Larry Ray Pike. From that union her daughter was born Sherri Ann. However the union didn’t last long. Shortly after that marriage ended. Shirley met and married the man that she would stay with forever my daddy Robert Joseph Douglass. Robert a.k.a. daddy a.k.a. Pop left this world September 4, 2006. Throughout the years Bob and Shirley had lived in Arizona, Haigler Nebraska, Colorado, Oregon, California. And then back to Arizona. Along the way they raised their daughter Sherri who was now known as Sherri Jo-Ann Douglass. As a young girl Sherri had a baby boy. They saw their daughter was having a difficult time being a mother at such a young age. So Bob and Shirley adopted Sherri’s young son Joe. And they also helped raise her youngest son Kyle. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Willie Moore, her father Chester Moore, her sister Betty and brother-in-law Ray Johnson, nephew Randy Johnson. Survived by her brother William and his wife Phyllis Moore. Sister Kathy and her husband Glenn Hilton. Sister-in-law’s Muriel Forbes, Ardith Douglass and Veda Douglass plus dozens of adopted kids. Plus dozens of nieces and nephews and lastly Shirley is survived by her daughter Sherri and Husband Stewart Schilleman, Son/Grandson Joe, his wife Tracy Douglass. Grandson Kyle Douglass. Grandson Mark and his wife Dani Schilleman. Five great grandchildren Seneka, Dylan Jean, Brody Ann Douglass. Tristan and Phoenix Schilleman. Her family would like to also specially thank Karen Graves, Jamie Blackford and Trace Hardin these three women were at the house and helped take care of Shirley until the end, these three ladies were Shirley’s bonus daughters and meant the world to her. And a very special thank you to bonus granddaughter Sawyer Rose and her rain stick, which brought a beautiful smile to Shirley’s face. And made her passing easier

Memorial services for Shirley will be held 3 PM at West Resthaven funeral home 6440 West Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301
