Memories of Sturgeon fishing with Tom on the Frasier River, B. C. 

So many wonderful memories of Uncle Tom thru the years,  the great wit, smile and stories at every turn.   His ability to calm a situation was one that does stand out, 24 years ago he was filling in for a chaplain in Hawaii who was heading on vacation with his wife, and Tom saw this as a great vacation opportunity for his family and also invited Jill and I, and our new baby Caitlin who was just a few months old at the time.  Long before cell phones & texts to keep us coordinated, we arrived earlier than Tom and dropped off by Taxi at the church with the pastor's home in back.   We knocked on the door, and when the pastor's wife opened the door and had the most astonished look on her face as we explained who we were, it said it all, Tom had failed to mention that "others" were joining him in his duties that week, and that included a baby in her home.   We decided to wait across the street at the beach until Tom arrived (there are worse places to be stranded), and several hours later Tom smoothed the whole situation over with his charm, all was well, and we had a wonderful visit.      
We will miss you Tom, and will take all of your teachings and love forward in all we do.    Love Brian

Dr. McCormack, "Tom," officiated at our marriage ceremony in the Campus Christian Ministry Chapel at the University of Washington.  My Greek immigrant husband, Dimitris and I were married on December 9, 1974, two years after he arrived as a foreign student in Seattle.  I knew Tom otherwise as a frequent performer singing and acting at "The Edge" (social gathering place and coffee shop) where he was the spiritual overseer to young people.  I enjoyed Tom's wisdom and caring that he freely shared with all of us.   We have been married 46 years and consider Reverend Tom a significant person in our history.  We send love and prayers to his family and all who loved him, Anne Foster Angelou and Dimitris Angelou, Seattle, WA.

Tommy was a fun loving and great friend for all of us who knew him as a youngster in college.     The very first week on campus at NorthWest Christian,   we went together to the movie theater close to campus....Tommy and his room mate, Roy Day, were great cut-ups and really played into the movie which had a hero who was able to Punch down the villians with one blow....since Tommy was a big tough looking guy,  he was instantly given the nickname of "Punchy"....those of us still think of him as "Punch", who was strong, able and ready to stand to the end with his friends.     So...here's to you "Punchy"..... we'll meet you together soon.     Bill B.

We are devastated by this tremendous loss to our whole family.  Aunt Karen, Lindsay, Suzanne, Rick, and all your families, and all extended family...  Uncle Tom was one-of-a-kind, made us all feel like family, even if we married into the family.   He genuinely cared about all of us, loved all of us, was interested in everything we all did, and kept us all informed with his weekly SNL (Sunday Night Letter).  We will miss his email letters, his wonderful wit, that sparkle in his eyes, his awesome laugh, his wonderful singing of people's names, his incredible knowledge and talent, and that handsome face. Dear Karen and Family,
   I am so sorry to hear today of Tom’s passing.  Tom was such a dear and beloved mentor and friend to me when I was the Associate Pastor at University Christian Church from 1989 - 1994.  I was “fresh” out of seminary, and he became the loving and gifted teacher that he has been to many many others over the years.
   His tender loving presence and influence remains imprinted on my heart and spirit and I shall be forever grateful.  
   Please know that I am holding all of You in my heart in love and prayers as we pass Tom into the everlasting arms of the God whom Tom loved and served beyond measure.

In the 1980's Tom served as a mentor and guide as I prepared for ordination in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). More recently we served together on the board of the newly forming University Christian Church Legacy Foundation. He was a cherished colleague. His kindness, care, insights, and wisdom will be greatly missed.

I was privileged to be Tom's pastor for a time at University Christian Church in Seattle, WA. I so appreciated his wisdom, sense of humor, and commitment to the church. It was a gift to be in ministry with him and he is missed.
