She was born on December 10, 1923 in Mason City, IL to the late Oscar and Carrie (Schafer) Thompson.
Vera was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of USA and worked for many years for the Kickapoo Council in Peoria, IL.
She married Carl J. Hoffman on May 10, 1946 they shared 56 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2002.
Vera is survived by three children James Hoffman, Judy (Glen) Glover & Carol Hoffman, five grandchildren Nicole Hoffman, Janelle Hoffman-McNiel, Adrienne Hoffman, Beth Glover & Glen Ryan Glover and five great grandchildren Kayleigh Zobel, Destiny Valenzuela, Cheyenne Hoffman, Ava Glover & Elizabeth Glover.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 10-11AM with funeral services beginning at 11AM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
