Wally’s love and passion was first and foremost his family and faith. He could always be found supporting his grandchildren on the sidelines or in the outfield of their games. A devoted Catholic, he reached far and wide through his work with the Diocese of Phoenix, SS. Simon & Jude, Bourgade Catholic, and Knights of Columbus to ensure his heartfelt belief in his faith would continue on with future generations.
Outside of family and the office, if he wasn’t on his annual trip to Notre Dame, Wally’s favorite pastime was golf. He loved getting out on the links with his sons, grandsons, and Thursday golfing buddies. Those who he felt were worthy were taught the finer art of “Wally-Ball” and now he has a standing tee time.
After serving with the Air Force in Korea, he graduated from ASU with a degree in Electrical Engineering, later returning to receive an MBA. He worked for G.E. and Honeywell, and even after retiring, assisted many young entrepreneurs start their own companies.
Wally is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Noreen, his brother Edmund (Jean), sisters Beverly & Marlene (Al), 8 children, 25 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. His eternal love of family and faith will endure in this world as he is welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 18th from 6-8pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 19th at 10am at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a cause near and dear to Wally’s heart, the Catholic Education Arizona, 2025 North Third Street #165, Phoenix, AZ 85004 or catholiceducationarizona.org.
