William J. "Bill" Haas

75 of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on January 12, 2014. He was born on October 8, 1938 to William and Isabel Haas in Cleveland, OH. Bill served in the United States Army until 1960 and received his bachelor's degree at Arizona State University. He married Nancy Stewart on October 20, 1962. He enjoyed retirement, spending his days golfing with friends, working in his home office, attending family gatherings or sporting events and musical performances of his grandchildren. Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, younger brother to four sisters and a brother, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy, of 51 years, his daughter Susan and son-in-law Craig Brown, his daughter Stacey and son-in-law Ned Fortin, his daughter Amy and son-in-law John Nicoloff,adored grandchildren; Drew Brown, TJ Brown, Annie Nicoloff and Lizzy Nicoloff. He is also survived by his four sisters, Terry Sanders, Susan Roberts, Patricia McDivitt, and Nancy Koster. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 24th at 9:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes at 7924 North 59th Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301. Interment will proceed at 12:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Bill's memory to either the Arizona Animal Welfare League or the Irish Cultural Center.
