

Wilma Moore-Morrow peacefully died January 20, 2017 in Prescott where she enjoyed her last fifteen months. She was born in 1924 in Illinois, the third of seven children of Bryan and Nancy Thompson. At the age of one her family moved to Glendale where her parents established a dairy farm. Wilma graduated from Glendale High School. She married the love of her life, Ray Moore, in 1943. Upon Ray's return from World War II they settled in Phoenix, raising their two children, Gary and Marsha. Wilma and Ray shared fifty-one beautiful years in marriage until Ray's death in 1994. Wilma spent most of her years happily as a wife and mother. She was a member of the Starlighter's Club of Phoenix, Glendale Historical Society, and Daughter's of the American Revolution. Wilma was always comforted by her faith in God and was a lifetime member of the Glendale Church of Christ. In 1998, she married Basil Morrow, enjoying twelve years with a second love until his death in 2010. Basil grew up in Glendale and served in World War II with Ray. Wilma is survived by her two children Gary and Marsha, grandsons Christopher Moore (Stacey) and Jesse Cuthbertson, two great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, her younger siblings Melvin Thompson, Bertha Sharp, Edna Green, Martha Strickler (Charles) and sister-in-law Cleo Erwin (Eldon). She was predeceased by her two eldest siblings Rosetta Ayers and Ruby Erkes. Wilma was a sweet, lovely lady who will be greatly missed.
