

Ysabel C Bustos Jr, of Glendale, passed away on Thursday January 29, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on August 18, 1945 in Phoenix to Ysabel and Eva Bustos and grew up in Avondale. He was the first of 6 children. He then married the love of his life Mary Inez and had three children. He worked at Fry’s Food Stores as a meat cutter for 34 years. He also worked for the City of Phoenix at Desert West Park as park director for more than a decade. When he completely retired he enjoyed watching his Raiders, wrestling, and family feud.
In addition he enjoyed watching football with his son as well as watching him play. He had fun flying with his eldest daughter to San Francisco for lunch and eating seafood. He especially looked forward to traveling to California to visit his daughter for Christmas. He loved his dog Chewy and would carry him around the house. He felt great joy watching the sporting events and school activities of all three of his grandchildren. He took great pleasure making these memories with his wife at his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son (Izzy), and brothers, Joey, Frank, and John. He is survived by his loving spouse of 60 years, Mary; daughter, Alicia; daughter Roni; son-in-law Bino Escobar; daughter-in-law, Felicia; grandchildren, Isaac, Nikolas, and Gabriella; and two sisters, Virginia Ybarra and Carol Chavez as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces.
A Visitation will be held at 10am on February 16, at Chapel of the Chimes 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale Arizona with a Rosary to follow at 11am. Funeral Graveside services to follow at 12:30pm. A potluck reception will be held at the VFW Post 1433 Sandy Coor 7618 N. 63rd Ave, Glendale, Arizona after the graveside service.
