I met Ernie at a music festival and he became one of my best friends in Los Angeles.  I lived near an Ernie's Restaurant and we enjoyed many delicious dinners there, and then I would help him with his office work.  Sometimes I would deliver his legal papers to the court house.  
He was pleasant and easy to work with; I still miss him.  I send love and healing energy to his family.

My daughter (who was ten at the time) and I met Ernie at Barnsdale Park, Hollywood, CA. at an Arts Program in the 1970s.  He became one of my favorite friends and I liked that he asked me to help with his office work.  It was such a pleasure to work with him.  Since we both shared Gemini birthdays, we often celebrated together with a lunch or dinner.  He was an intelligent, passionate and excellent civil servant, defending many who would not have had a voice without him.  He will be missed.
   

I knew Mr. Bergman thru his surviving son Ernest. I knew him to be a great man, who cared about his son. I lost contact with ernest in 2011 and am deeply sadden to read this. If possible, I have been trying to get into contact with him which is how I found this, if anyone can help. Email, address, number anything, I would really appreciate it.  I knew Mr. Berumen since I was 5 years old and every time I would go into his office with my father he would always tell me that when I grew up I would work for him. Who knew this would really happen, at 20 years old I begun working  with him. He was like a grandfather to me. We would talk about everything and he always had the best stories to tell me. He taught me so much about life. He was such a wonderful man and an excellent Attorney. It hurt me so much to lose him. I am glad I was able to spend time with him before he passed.  He is missed. 

Dear Uncle,(AKA Neto) so sorry I did not see you before you left us,but, I just found out you passed... I'm sure Grandma and my Mother greeted you when you reached the gates of heaven( now you and Aunt Blanche can play a duet on the piano.)  Thank you fir leavening me with fond memories of us growing up together. " May you rest in peace". I will miss you. Love to your family. Love always your Niece Blanche Borgatta Kanehl

I will miss your laughter at my corny jokes.
I will miss all your medical questions.
I will miss your stories about East LA.
Most importantly I will miss your smile.

Ernest Frank Berumen was born to Felipe and Maria Aurora Fernandez on 5-27-1931 in Los Angeles, CA. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Phil Berumen and sister Aurora Borgata. He is survived by his daughter Roxanne Bartush, son Ernest William Berumen, and his grandchildren Michael and Sarah Bartush. He also leaves behind a brother, Marcelo Berumen. 
Ernest Frank Berumen served in the Air Force from November 1951 to December 1953 and received a Korean Services medal and a UN Services medal. He later went on to become an Attorney at Law and practiced in the greater Los Angeles area. 
He will be missed by his family and friends.

Since we met 28 years ago we've kept you in our hearts and prayers and that will not change because you're now in Heaven with your beloved Breezy.  We will to continue to be supportive of you by doing all we can to help Ernie Jr & Roxanne in this time of tremendous sadness for them.  God Bless you Ernie, we'll see you soon.  Daphne & Sharon
