I love ❤️ you Uncle Virgil. I am so thankful I got to spend time with you in LA at your home. I enjoyed our talks and watching old movies, going to Jazz clubs, and shopping in Glendale Mall.
The good times we had in Las Vegas are especially memorable for me. We walked and walked that strip.
 I have great photos of you, taken at  Alameda Street, at the market on Olvera Street. Thank you so much for those great memories. I love you,  and we will meet again one day.

Great Uncle Virgil,
 
I can only imagine the joys above when your loved ones greeted you after all this time. You are now in the after life with your parents, your sisters Betty and Eileen, and even your spunky niece, Tami. What a reunion this must be! Thank you for being a good brother to my Grandmother, Ali Faye, as she was a loving sister to you. I have faith you are now pain free and enjoying all the jazz tunes inside the golden gates of Heaven.

Say hi to my mom when you see her. I don't think you ever got a chance to meet my son Joshua, I'm sure you would've got along well with him. Love your niece, Tina McFerren.

I remember in 2014, while at his sister Betty's service, Uncle Virgil playing basketball with the younger people attending the service.  He was very agile even at the age of 87.  He fell, skinned his knee, and thought he was all that when I helped clean his wound.  

He was a very gentle person, with lots of worldly knowledge that he liked to impart upon whomever would listen.  

Rest in peace, Uncle Virgil and know that your spirit lives on in those who loved you.
