Mary D. Schaffer

Our hearts are broken; our beloved mother/grandmother, Mary D. Schaffer (Muller), sun set on July 17, 2017, surrounded by her family. She lived in the Ridgewood/Glendale area most of her life. She moved to Kings Park, Long Island, then to Tampa, FL to be with her grandson. My mother was kind and giving. She would give anyone the shirt off her back even when didn’t have anything to give. She was unassuming, relaxed and loved to just have a beer and potato chips with family and friends. We like to think she is above having a beer with Papa Jack (her very special brother-in-law) and few others.

She is survived by her children, Mary (ex-husband Joe), John (Annette) and Jim; grandchildren Tyler and Kristen, who she adored! Survived by her best friends, sister Jane Buser (Muller) and sister-in-law Loretta Tebaldi (Schaffer). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews; grand-nieces and nephews, she loved them all dearly. Predeceased by her father/mother Charlie and Florence Muller, brother Bobby Muller, brother-in-law Jack Buser and ex-husband John Schaffer (NYFD).

Visitation is Saturday, Oct 14 from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm. A prayer service and blessing of the ashes will be at 6:00pm by Pastor Dorsey from Redeemer Lutheran Church.
