Brandon lived in Golden, Colorado since his birth, surrounded by friends and family. During his youth he excelled in numerous sports and activities. None of which did he enjoy more than hunting waterfowl. His father and uncles introduced him to the sport at an early age. He anxiously looked forward to each and every hunting season so he could torment his mother by bringing countless, lifeless geese and duck into the family kitchen.
Brandon attended Golden High School and like most young men, he set “the prestigious goal” of never having homework. It is rumored he actually came close to achieving this goal! Brandon decided to continue his education at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana; a state he truly loved and considered his second home. It was there that he quickly became serious about his education and set new higher ambitions. In hopes of becoming either a physician or dentist, he majored in Neuro Science and Cellular Biology. He later decided the art of dentistry was his passion. During his senior year in college, he was accepted to four dental schools. Without hesitation, he chose the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry to study this rewarding health science profession.
Brandon’s life was cut horribly short on January 30, 2011 due to a systemic staph infection that ultimately led to a massive brain hemorrhage. Brandon was 3 ½ years into his dental education. Although Brandon’s dream was to practice dentistry on earth, we are certain he is “kicking up his heels”, with his cowboy boots on and is the best dentist heaven has ever experienced!!
Brandon is survived by his parents Paul and Heidi Babkiewich, brother Tyler, sister Brittany and her husband Marco DeCarlo.
Brandon was an avid waterfowl hunter. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in his name to Ducks Unlimited, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120 1(800)453-8257.
