Elaine Agnes Hand

ELAINE AGNES HIRSCH HAND passed away in her sleep the morning of Sept 8, 2010 at home in Golden CO. She was 88 years old, born in Columbia SD on Aug 19, 1922. She was always a hard working woman, even as a youth during the depression years. Among her many jobs over the years, she worked at the postoffice during Christmas season, at the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant during the Vietnam War, and for Sears after her husband passed away and until she was over 80 years old. She was a meticulous homemaker as well. She is survived by two sisters, Darlys Nelson of Fridley, MN and Eileen Kraskey of New Hope, MN and by three sons, Gary Hand of Cody, WY, Randy Hand of Brooklyn Park, MN and Gregory (Rick) Hand of Golden, CO. as well as by 8 granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation and prayer time for family with hospice minister, Nancy True, was held Friday evening, Sept 10 at 8 p.m. at Olinger Woods Mortuary in Golden. She will be buried in the Fort Snelling cemetery in Minneapolis, MN beside late husband, veteran Howard Coles Hand (1912-1986).
