Addis Marie Mire

Addis Mire, 93, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. A native and a resident of Geismar, she was a retired State of Louisiana Department of Labor employee. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Monday, Feb. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Burial in the Hope Haven Mausoleum, Prairieville. Survived by a sister, Lela Guitreau; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnell and Rose Mire, and Travis and Mary Nell Mire; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Eunice Berteau Mire; brother, A. P. Mire; and sister, Gladys Lee. Pallbearers will be Larry, Todd and Mike Mire, Daniel Guitreau Sr., Daniel Guitreau Jr., and Austin Arceneaux. She was a graduate of St. Amant High School and LSU, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters (Grand Region).
