Alma "Mim" B. Maxwell

Alma B. Maxwell, born in Columbia, LA and a resident of Geismar, passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Born September 9, 1936 to Beulah Whittington and John D. Blackwell Sr. who have preceded her in death along with her sister Olean Kelly; brothers J. L. Blackwell and John Blackwell, Jr., husband Oscar Kelly Maxwell and daughter Angela Farris.

Survived by her sisters Mackie Duchesne and Joy Etier; a very loving partner of 27 years Wayne Berthelot, son Timothy Maxwell (Carla), Raymond Scott Maxwell; grandchildren Charae Leonard (Al), Courtney Mock (Kyle) and Amber Tullier (Daniel); great grandchildren Lathan, Charis and Uriah Leonard, Collyns Mock, Gibson and Luke Tullier.

To us she was “Mim” and what wonderful “Mimories” we have that we will cherish for a lifetime. Mim loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She also loved camping, watching her LSU Tigers and talking and visiting with any and everyone.

Visitation for Alma Maxwell will be held on April 23, 2026 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, LA 70737. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a service to begin at 11:00 followed by graveside service at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park, 15304 LA-73, Prairieville, LA 70769.
