Anthony "Toby" Joseph Leon Sr.

Known to his family and friends as Toby, passed away at the age of 78 on March 31, 2026.

Toby is survived by the love of his life, Dianne Blank Leon, of 58 years. He became a proud father of two sons, Anthony “Toby”, Jr. (Annette) and Lance Leon (Jessica). Toby was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Autumn, Laney (Brianna), Josie, and Summer; his sister, Virginia Miller; godchildren, Patrick Miller and Lauren Zimmer; niece, Jerri Robichaux and nephews, Michael and Patrick Miller.

He joins his parents Frank and Stella Leon Latino; in-laws Nelson and Alice Blank; son, Lance Leon and godchild Kevin Dinino, in heaven.

He was a servant of God, who attended St. John the Evangelist. He loved spending time with his family and friends, working out, watching LSU and the Saints and attending car shows. Most of all he cherished his time as athletic director of St. Alphonsus school.

Toby graduated from Ascension Catholic in 1965; he served his country for 6 years in the Army National Guard. He was a dedicated employee of Shell Pipeline where he retired in 2002.

The visitation will be at Ascension of our Lord, Donaldsonville on Thursday April 2, 2026, from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. A special thanks to all the compassionate care providers, Becky "Our Angel" Sanders, Fidelis Residential Care Homes and Pinnacle Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Toby Leon, Laney Leon, Patrick Miller, Kyle Hughes, Pete Brocato, Scott Brignac and Mike St. Angelo.
