He was born on October 9, 1997 to Arthur “Butch” Wear Jr and the late Sherry Tolar. He was beloved brother of Chaz Ford (Hannah) and Victoria Comardelle (Ty), Uncle of Paisley Wills, Lucas Ford, Tyson and Evalee Comardelle. He is also survived by the love of his life Juliet Savage, grandfather, Terry “Grand Dude” Tolar; MawMaw Virginia Ford, Uncle Christopher Tolar and step-dad David Ford. He now rejoins those who have gone before him, his mom Sherry, MamMaw Margaret Tolar, PawPaw Raymond Ford, Grandma Ellabeth Rogers and Grandpa Arthur Whitney Wear Sr. He also leaves behind to cherish his memories numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.
Arthur was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, goofy jokes, and incredibly kind and compassionate spirit. He loved the color purple. He had a strange craving for sour candy and lemons so much so that he would make his taste buds in shock. He loved the simple things in life, a pretty day sitting out fishing, finding new nature trails to take in the beautiful sites. He enjoyed taking random adventures with friends and family always looking for something new to explore. But above all he loved his family so much and they meant the absolute world to him. They always came first even before himself, everything he did was for them. He loved spending time with them, especially if it involved a crawfish boil. Arthur fought a long battle and truly gave his all until his last breath. His courage and honor will be remembered by all of those who knew and loved him. Although Arthur was given what most would consider the worst news at the age of 16, he took his Ewings Cancer diagnosis as a new reason to live everyday for that day. Through years of treatment, Arthur never complained about his situation and took everything in stride. He was so resilient in his battle and left a lasting impact on everybody who crossed his path. Arthur had an incredible ability to make friends with anyone and everyone, he had that admirable quality of finding the good in each person. Arthur was so grateful, regardless of his condition, and always thanked and appreciated all members of his medical team. When Arthur was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, his life expectancy was slim, and yet he survived several years of brutal treatment and unspeakable pain to stay with us and everyone he loved. He was a warrior that fought until the very end. He did not let a diagnosis define him and lived on his own terms. Science did not catch up fast enough to save him.
“We Walk By Faith, Not By Sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7. These words were written on a tile in his Ochsner hospital room, and they hit home with him. Later, when he was released from the hospital, he found a piece of paper on the street randomly, the same phrase was written upon it. We want everyone to live by this same verse.
