Avis Lanoux Dixon, 70, a native and resident of Gonzales, LA, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Avis was a 1970 graduate of East Ascension High School. Her friends will remember her as an incredible shortstop in her years playing softball for The American Legion. However, her daughters will remember her as a dedicated dance mom. She relished her years watching them dance especially as East Ascension Spartanettes and LSU Golden Girls. She had a passion for designing weddings for countless families and dedicated many years providing families across numerous parishes with beautiful floral designs. She had a love for the outdoors where she spent a majority of her time, enjoying the nature surrounding her and bird watching. Above all, her true joy in life was spending time with her 5 grandchildren, who she adored and who adored her. She was truly loved by all and will be missed tremendously. Her lasting impact on the community, friends, and family will always be remembered. She is preceded in death by her father, John Lanoux; and grandparents, Alcide and Clotide Babin, John and Allie Lanoux.
