Azalie Picou Rousseau passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the age of 94. She was a native and resident of Whitehall, LA. Azalie loved taking care of her family, especially through her cooking. She made sure to remember each family member’s favorite meal and would have it prepared for whenever they came to visit.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Bercegeay (Edward) and Mary Jane Templet (Roy), her son, Joseph Ray Rousseau Jr., siblings, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray Rousseau Sr., her parents, Xavier Picou and Antionette LeBourgeois Picou, and son, Dale Rousseau.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation which will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 22502 LA-22, Maurepas, LA 70449 beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Whitehall Community Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lance Lambert, Terry Bercegeay, Joey Rousseau, Rodney Rousseau, Robert Flanagan, and Mathew Bullard. Backup pallbearer Herbert Joseph Reine Jr.
