Barbara Jean Schexnayder

Barbara Jean Schexnayder passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 86. She was a native of Detroit, Michigan and a current resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Barbara has now gone to join her late husband, Ronald Schexnayder, in their heavenly home. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children; James Schexnayder, Troy Schexnayder (Mary) and Dawn Kershaw (Chris) and her grandchildren; Paige, Jude and Cole. She was born on April 26, 1939 to the late William and Helen Mitchell. She is the sister of Taffy Lakatos and the late Helen Angel.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a devout Catholic and had a strong faith and love for God. In her down time, she enjoyed cross-stitching and playing on her iPad. But most of all she loved spending time with family. She truly will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70817. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of service. She will be buried at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd. Zachary, Louisiana 70791.
