

A native of Sunset and a resident of Prairieville passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his residence at the age of 81. He was a 1st Lt. in the Air Force and retired as a Naval Commander; received a B.S. in Secondary Education and Chemical Engineering from ULL; B.S. in Meteorology from Penn State; and retired as Professional Chemical Engineer in the petro chemical industry. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Constance Elizabeth Glaubrecht Bertinot, 3 daughters & sons-in-law: Catherine & Terry Zeringue, Susan & Randy Breaux & Dawn & Tim Goatley, 1 Son & daughter-in-law: Mark & Harriet Bertinot, sister: Janelle Angell of Avondale, La., 9 grandchildren: Terry,Jr. Caroline, Brittany, Sean, Sarah, Deven, Amber, Kristina & Donovan, 12 great grandchildren: Charisma, Dre', Braeden, Tyler, Kobi, Hayden, Ethan, Kinzlee, Colby, Cassidy, Gabe & Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Mary Lou Joubert Bertinot. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Eric Gyan. Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Mausoleum, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Mark Bertinot, Randy Breaux, Terry Zeringue, Tim Goatley, Donovan Goatley, Deven Bertinot, TerryZeringue Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Tero, Steven Guidry, and Sean Barringer. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Member with council #8342 and a member of the Korean Conflict War Veterans Association.
