Brennan Hale Rube, 14, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 9, following a tragic automobile accident. He was a freshman at Dutchtown High School and was a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana. Brennan was met in heaven by his maternal grandmother, Jeanne Leinbach Johnson or “Nana” – whom he loved dearly and his paternal grandmother, Faye Lively Rube. Brennan loved to make people laugh, fish, hunt, and spend endless amounts of time in the deer stand with his idol - his maternal grandfather, Morris Hale Claybourne Johnson III, or better known as “Pops”. He was a loving, caring, kind soul who never met a stranger. He impacted many in his short time on this earth and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Christine Rube Bartholmey; father, Darren John Rube; stepdad, Stephen Bartholmey; siblings, Hannah Faye Rube, Will Bartholmey, and Matt Bartholmey; paternal grandfather, Ricky Rube and wife Philomena; uncle, Morris Johnson and wife Monique; aunts, Jennifer Johnson Graves and husband Brandon, Renee Rube Easley and husband Craig; cousins, Ashley Johnson, Austin Johnson, Courtney Caraway, Larson Graves, Molly Easley, and Madie Easley. He always entertained them and his sweet spirit will live on in all of them. Our heavenly Father will be entertained by Brennan’s presence and we will remember Brennan with much love and affection - he was one of a kind. Special thanks to Chris Wagley with CSC Customs for being a Good Samaritan and helping out strangers in a time of need. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales, on Monday, December 14, from 3 pm until 6 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Audubon Hospice for their generosity. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
