Calvin "Joey" Boudreaux Jr. passed away on September 24, 2025, at 11:44 am surrounded by family. He was a lifelong resident of Gonzales. He was born on October 16, 1955. Joey retired from Mosaic after almost 37 years and was also an auxiliary Gonzales reserve police officer. Joey loved being with his family more than anything and watching his grandchildren activities, especially sports. He almost never missed a game or competition. It gave him so much joy watching them. Everyone knew which grandkid was his because he so seldomly missed. So many people were touched by him over the years as he never failed to tell anyone hello or shake their hand like he knew them their whole life. His next favorite thing to do was go to anything LSU. He most often went to the LSU baseball and women's basketball games but also went to softball and football games occasionally. If he wasn't at a game, you could guarantee he was watching it on his TV, iPad, or phone, and at times all three. He really enjoyed playing golf when his back was good but he did not miss very many tournaments on TV. Joey was one of the most loving, caring, loyal and unselfish person you would ever meet. Everyone that ever met him always had wonderful things to say about him. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help his children, grandchildren, family, and friends with anything they needed. As his wife would say he had a heart of gold and is her angel. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Audrey Ducote Boudreaux; sons, Todd Balfantz (Kristie), Chet Boudreaux (Alana), and Eric Boudreaux (Alyson); grandchildren, Kirsten Gautreau, Dane and lan Balfantz, Will and Wes Boudreaux, Keegan and Khai Boudreaux and great-grandchild Bec Guedry; brothers, Kirk Boudreaux (Melanie), and Don Boudreaux (Bridget); sisters-in-law, Evelyn Babin (Melvin), Judy Long (Mike), and Debbie Ducote (Monty Real). He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin “Codee” Boudreaux Sr., and Betty Babin Boudreaux; father and mother-in-law, F. A. and Sophie Hernandez Ducote, and brother, Ted Boudreaux.
