

On May 19, 2015, at Azalea Estates in Gonzales, Louisiana, at the age of 92, our dearest and beloved Aunt Ga, peacefully joined her Lord Jesus Christ and The Blessed Mother Mary. A resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, Concetta was born on January 22, 1923, at her parent's home, 1023 Chartres Street in the French Quarter. After 1970, she resided with her husband, Daniel, in Slidell, Louisiana. Later after Hurricane Katerina, she relocated to Ascension Parish. Residing in New Orleans, Concetta was active in various public affairs. A member of various Carnival organizations, she reigned as Queen a number of years. As a business executive for various companies, she was the first woman to hold the position of Manager for the technical department of MCI Communications Corporation from which she retired in 1991. Concetta, a devoted Catholic, loved golf, football, the New England Patriots, and Tom Brady. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Daniel T. Jones, her parents, Wallace P. Simone and Rose Colombo Simone; her sisters, Josephine S. Ferrara and Margret S. Landry. Aunt Ga, who was cherished by her nieces and nephews, is survived by nieces; Rosalyn A. La Bella, Sheron E. Landry, Deborah L. Long, and Cynthia M. Preece, and her nephews; Wallace G. Ferrara, Curtis M. Ferrara, and Timothy P. Landry. She is, also, survived by a number of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. Visitation will begin on Friday, May 22, 2015, between 9:00 am and 11:00 am, at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am by Father Jerry Martin at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery / Pineview Memorial Park, Slidell, Louisiana. Our Family would like to express our appreciation to the staff and residents of Azalea Estates, especially to Lisa L'huillier and Cecelia Rivere for their compassion and for their prayers for our Aunt and our family.
