Darrel Wayne Jones passed away on October 18, 2021 at the age of 62. He was the most loving, outgoing, happy to see everybody soul you could imagine. He has now rejoined his late parents, Ernest Marion Jones Jr. and Margaret Alice Bowlin Jones, in their heavenly home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings; Debra Jones Russell (Ricky), M. Keith Jones (Donna), Vicky Jones Burtt (Billy) and Janeen Jones Patel (Raju). He was the proudest uncle of Jenni Lombard (Parker), Alli Chaisson (Joey), Haley Nemeth (Jacob), Olivia Jones, Delaney Jones, David Burtt (Jessica), Daniel Burtt (Victoria), Tessa Patel, Jaya Patel and his great nieces and nephews Hudson & Harper Lombard, Cooper & Mackenzie Chaisson and Isabella Nemeth. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and family members. He will truly be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Through all obstacles life could have sent Darrel’s way he always met them with a smile and a go get them attitude. He was an active participant in the Special Olympics; even carrying the torch at State Competition one year. He was able to take on many tasks through the Association for Retarded Citizens and Options. Darrel also served the Lord faithfully and was a proud usher at church. Darrel loved to dance and bowl. He never met a stranger and his joyous spirit will be sorely missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Darrel’s Life on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Visitation will begin at 10 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon.
