David Edward Downey a native of Canton, MS and resident of Hammond, LA died on February 5, 2022 at the age of 68. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Downey. He is survived by three children, David W. Downey, Matthew Downey and Michelle Messina (BJ); two grandchildren, Liam Messina and Easton Downey. He was an electrician by trade and enjoyed coaching baseball and softball, hunting and fishing. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for David which will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737. A memorial service will occur Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737. An inurnment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 604 E.
