A native of Independence and resident of St. Amant, Earline Maurin Stephens passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the age of 86. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dewana and Timothy Goodson; sons and daughters-in-law, Shelley and DeLoise Gaudin, J. Gregory Stephens, Rene’ and Sandra Stephens, Rod and Sue Stephens; sister, Mable DeLaune; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. G. Stephens; parents, Armand “Peat” and Mae Bajon Maurin; sister, Elsie Babin; and granddaughters, Jamie Sue Stephens and Sarah Cambre. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
