

Edith B. Rossi, age 92, passed away on February 16, 2016 at Ascension Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gonzales. A life-long resident of the Gonzales area; a member of St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, The St. John’s Alter Society and an usher there for many years. Her greatest joy in life was her family and being a mother to her five children. And, she received a special joy from her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She had an unconditional love and a fierce loyalty to them and a willingness to sacrifice for their benefit. Survived by daughters Cynthia (Frank) Cagnolatti, Ramona Frederic, Amy Rossi and Marybeth (Jeff) Glenn; son, Norris J. Rossi, Jr. Grandmother of Chad (Christi) Cagnolatti, Edie Cagnolatti, Ryan (Heidi) Frederic, Erin (Cody) Pond, Tori (Jeremy) LaCour, Seth (Kaci) Chidester and Jonathan Rossi. Great-grandmother of Olivia and Averie LaCour, Jackson and Sadie Frederic and Katie and Eli Chidester. Sister of Shirley Grant, Pamela Gautreaux, Lois Mayer, Leslie Miller, Jr., and preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norris J. (Blackie) Rossi, Sr.; mother, Amy Arceneaux Miller; father, Eusebe Babin and stepfather Leslie Miller, Sr.; sister Margie Root; brothers Billy Babin and Weber Miller ; and a son-in-Law, Douglas J. (Doug) Frederic. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the wake on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales between 5:00 pm – 9:00pm. Saturday, February 20 at St. John’s The Evangelist Church, Prairieville, visitation hours are between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm with Funeral Mass to follow. Burial will follow in Prairieville Community Cemetery.
