Evelyn Carney

Evelyn Sanchez Carney passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the age of 97. She was a native of St. Gabriel, LA and a resident of Gonzales, LA. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Plauche and Donna Boudreaux (Dale); sister, Rita LeBlanc; grandchildren, Renee Miller (Jace) and Devin Boudreaux (Brittany); great grandchildren, Gracie Miller, Brady, Luke, Emmie, Adeline Boudreaux, and baby girl Boudreaux due in August. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leus J. Sanchez; second husband, John L. Carney Jr.; sisters, Marie Jackson and Annie Tanner; brothers, Louis “Rusty” Rouillier and Elmore Rouillier; and son in law, George Plauche.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Gathering at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA 70737 on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Cornerview Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Dale Boudreaux, Larry LeBlanc, Devin Boudreaux, and Carey Templet. A special thanks goes to the doctors and ICU staff at Baton Rouge General.
