

Evey was a woman who truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved visiting the casino, where she found excitement and joy, and she was known as an amazing cook whose meals brought family together and created lasting memories. Above all else, Evey deeply loved her family. Her home and heart were always open to those she cherished. She made friends easily and kept them close with her gift of hospitality.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Simon and Lydia Young; grandchildren, Clay Young (Joli), Cary Young (Valerie), Chantelle Evelyn Howington (Adam), and Wesley “Wes” Broussard (Barbara); great-grandchildren, Jacob Young (Kayleigh), Lane Young, Anthony Zimmerle, Jase Lejeune, Amariah Broussard, Eli Broussard, Canaan Broussard, Blaze Broussard, Wesley Broussard Jr., and Zachary Broussard; her sister, Carolyn Nicolosi. She was close to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and her first great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by 2 children, Kathryn Mary, age 5 and Lane Joseph, age 17; her parents, Ansell “Pete” and Juanita Webb McAlister; and 4 brothers, Robert “Bobby” Walker, Muncy McAlister, Oscar McAlister, and Ansell McAlister Jr.
Services for Evey will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Ourso Funeral Home, located at 13533 Airline Highway in Gonzales, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Please join us as we celebrate her life. She will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Mausoleum, 604 East Highway 30, Gonzales, Louisiana.
Evey will be remembered for her loving spirit, her devotion to family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
