

Floyd Daniel Cook, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2014. He was a native of Jackson, Louisiana and resident of St. Amant Louisiana. He proudly served in the Marines during World War II. Floyd loved to go dancing. He also enjoyed carpentry, working with wood, and tending to his chickens. He is survived by his son, Ronald Paul Cook and wife Deena; step-daughter, Lynn Ellis and husband David; son, Eddie Cook; daughter, Debra Aull; step-daughters, Amanda Hymel, Sandy Clark, Dinah Templet; sisters, Hazel Boudreaux, Evelyn St. Amant; grandchildren, Laine Cook and wife Jennifer, Mechelle Cook Defiore and husband Alexander, Shawn "Scooter" Cook, Daryn Cook, Taylor Aull, Brianna Aull; great-grandchildren, Alexis Gardener, Victoria Gardener, Laine Cook, Gage Cook, Chandler Cook, Nathan Defiore, Isabella Defiore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rankin and Mattie Cook; brothers, Le Roy, Sidney, Robert; sisters, Aurilee, Nettie, Effie, Mary, and Katie. Pallbearers will be Laine Cook, Titus Cline, David Ellis, Shawn Cook, Travis Hymel, Alexander Defiore, and Glen Stephens. Honorary Pallbearer will be Nathan Defiore. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery.
