Gabe was born on June 1, 1946, to Joseph C. Lambert and Marie Bourgeois Lambert. He was the 4th child of 13 children. Gabe passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House at the age of 77. Gabe was a very faithful man that attended St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. He served as an RCIA sponsor for many years until his health began to fail. He worked at Roy Marchand & Sons for over 30 years beginning at the age of 16. He later worked at Ralph’s Supermarket until he retired. While Gabe never married nor had any children of his own, he treated all of his nieces and nephews as his own. He could often be seen at the many sporting events supporting them. He was affectionately referred to as “Uncle Gabe” by all of his nieces and nephews as well as their friends. Gabe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. and Marie B. Lambert; his siblings, Judith Lambert, Joseph Lambert, Samuel Lambert, Janice L. Laiche, and Paulette L. Dixon. He is survived by his remaining siblings and their spouses, Dianne Amedee (Roger), Ronald Lambert (Karen), Wanda Schexnayder (Kelvin), Charlene Villnerve (Simon), Susan Duplessis (Roger), Ricky Lambert, Todd Lambert (Donna), Williane Lambert and Gordon Laiche; godchildren, Michele L. Lanoux, Joy L. Garon, and Jacie L. Dunbar; 19 nieces and nephews and 29 great-nieces and great-nephews. Services for Gabe will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. Visiting from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. He will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales, La. Pallbearers will be Noah Aucoin, Nicolas Garon, Ethan Arceneaux, Carr Villnerve, Cooper Ladner, Brayden Lambert, and Boyd Dixon.
