He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Eve Lambert Fontenot; daughter, Laurie Ann Fontenot Avants and husband Mike; son, Roger Joseph Fontenot Sr.; two sisters, Barbara Fontenot Noel and Melonie Fontenot Picou and her husband Ronald; and four grandchildren, Katelyn Avants, Kameron Avants, Mariah Fontenot, and Roger Joseph Fontenot Jr.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ameluse and Annie Delatte Fontenot.
A visitation will be held at Pentecostals of Ascension Church, Gonzales on Mon., Jan. 9, 2012 at 9 am until services at 11 am, with Pastor Michael Zigler officiating. Burial will follow in Whitehall Community Cemetery.
