Beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, lost her almost 2 year battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was 59, a native of Paincourtville and resident of Gonzales. Jackie loved spending time with her grandchildren and making frequent trips to the casino.
She is survived by her mother, Lena Cavalier Alberes; daughters, Tonya Babin and husband, Russell, Shelley Cavalier and life partner, Titus Knighten, and Precious Solar; sisters, Rose Tregre, and Bridget Lefort; brothers, Wayne, Mike, and Ricky Solar; grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Cavalier, Kaitlyn Mendoza, Angela Solar, Ronnie Boatman, Jr. and Izaiah Solar; and special friend, Stacy McGhee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Frank Solar, Sr.; sisters, Wanda Netherly and Judy Solar; brother, Joseph Frank Solar, Jr.; and a son in law, John Thomas Mendoza.
Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 10 am until memorial service at noon.
