

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the age of 81. She was born on October 2, 1934 in Convent, LA. She is survived by her husband, Alvin J. Breaux Jr. “A.J.”; their children, Randolph P. Breaux (wife, Susan), Pamela Ann Devillier (husband, Paul), Cheryl “Peanut” Breaux (husband, Paul), Alvin J. “Dukie” Breaux III (wife, Jerri), and Tamara Breaux Bourgeois; grandchildren, Derek Breaux ,Aaron Armand (wife, Brandi), Brandon Breaux, Vance Rossi, Chelsea Bourgeois, Lexie Breaux, Korie Breaux, Jacob LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Brooks Breaux, Blaize Hurley, Amelia Armand, Aubrey Armand, Maddox Carlson, Hayden Landry; sisters, Deborah Savoy, Sylvia Accaldo; brothers, Gerald Jacob, Roland Jacob, and Linden Jacob; her beloved pet dog, Chiquita. She is preceded in death by her parents, Malus and Esther Jacob; sister, Dolores Clouatre; brother, Eugene Jacob; grandson, Dameon J. Breaux; and beloved pet dog, Tiki. Janelle graduated in 1953 from Leon Godchaux High in Reserve, LA. She sang solo her Alma Mater at her graduation. She married Alvin J. Breaux Jr. “A.J.” on September 20, 1953 in Union at St. Mary Catholic Church. Afterwards, they traveled various places, including Alaska and Germany as A.J. was in the Army. Janelle loved to take pictures, she was an amateur photographer. She also loved to read, play Scrabble, cards, and play games on her computer. She also loved her nights at Pokeno. She always managed to get her family together for all the holidays. She always managed to have social gathering at her home with friends and family. She was the backbone of her extended family, never forgetting birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions. Her, her husband and her children spent many great weekends camping at Lake Martin. She loved music and was an avid dancer. She was a singer on the radio and TV in the 1950’s. She enjoyed old black and white films and mysteries on TV. You could always find her enjoying her game shows or doing crosswords. She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church and the VFW Auxillary. She was employed at K-Mart in Gonzales for 12 years. Janelle will be missed by so many. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend to so many. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was a living legend and always will be. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memories cemetery in Gonzales (Hwy 30). Aaron Armand, Derek Breaux, Vance Rossi, Conrad Savoy, Jr., Manual Clouatre, Tyrone Bazile will serve as pallbearers.
