A devoted wife, dedicated mother, loving daughter and sister, Janet passed away at her home in Geismar surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. She was 53 and a native of Houma. She is survived by her caring husband of almost 33 years, Samuel P. Barker; daughter, Samantha E. Barker; son, Scott Douglas Barker; mother, Marie Thibodeaux Prejeant; sisters, Ramona Prejeant Braud (Bert) and Robin Prejeant Gafford (Jack); and numerous other family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her father, Henry Prejeant. Visiting will be on Thursday, Oct. 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ben Barker, Jason Gafford, Chad Braud, Justin Barker, Scott Barker, and Johnny Wells. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 202 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
