Janice Dianne Goings Melchior of Livingston, LA, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the age of 71. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She never met a stranger and hugged everyone. She is survived by 2 sons, Jeffery Charles Melchior (wife Edith) and Christopher Adrean Melchior (fiance’ Patra Johnson); 2 grandchildren, Samantha Ann Melchior and Brandon Adrean Melchior; mother, Ollie “Ellene” Goings; sister, Dorothy Jean Goings; and brother, Douglas Adrean Goings (wife Carol); and honorable great grandbabies, Logan Kyzar. Mia Johnson and Kaylynn Johnson. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles “Charlie” Melchior III, and her father, Adrean Andres Goings. Visitation will be held at Colyell Baptist Church 19524 Hwy 42, Livingston, La on April 18, 2023 from 5 pm till 8 pm and will resume on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at 9 am with Funeral Service at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Jeremy Glascock. Burial will follow at Colyell Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Melchior, Brandon Melchior, Jared Hebert, Lance Kisamore, Austin Cornett, Kelvin Averett, Rick Kisamore and Jarrett Arnold. Honorary pallbearer will be Logan Kyzar. The family wants to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge, North Oaks Medical Center and Pontchatoula Community Care Center for the care given to her during her sickness, but they want to extend a special thank you to Juanita and Kelvin Averett for all the love and care you gave to her.
