Jay Michael Bourque

Jay was a loving son, grandson and brother and a resident of Gonzales, he passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at his home. He was 29 and a native of Gonzales. He was an avid fisherman and knew every nook of Lake Verrett where he loved to fish. He was the most kind and gentle man you would ever meet and was always smiling. He was a process technician at Shell Chemical, Geismar. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Gonzales from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial to follow in St. Theresa Cemetery. He is survived by his fiancé, Ashley Walton and her daughter, Madison; parents, Shelia and Jeff Bourque; grandparents, Ann Mazoch, Kathleen and Charles “Pete” Bourque; brother, Jared Paul Bourque and daughter Lily; aunts, uncles, and cousins, Gerrilyn Bourque McCool and daughter Jackie of Gonzales; Celeste Bourque Carmouche and husband, Terry and sons, David and Timothy and wife Margaret Reaves Carmouche of St. Amant; Bruce and Tami Bourque, children, Josh Fontenot and fiancé LeeAnn Cockerham, children Baylee and Brennan, and Kalli Fontenot Halston and husband, Matt of Baton Rouge; Nathan and Suzanne Grob Bourque, sons Nathan and Grant of Prairieville; Patti and Sid Lambert, sons Ryan and Clay of Fort Worth, TX; Drs. John and Cheryl Hedlund-Mazoch, son Dr. Mathew and wife Dr. Caroline of Bueche, Annette Mazoch Martin and husband Gregg, daughters, Miki and Adrien of Prairieville; Drs. Brent and Lisa Mazoch, children Brad and Amanda of Zachary; and Victoria Mazoch Martin and husband Todd, and son Lex of Paulina. Proceeded in death by cousin, Brennan McCool; uncle, Charles Michael Bourque; grandfather, I.J. Mazoch; and uncle, Ricky Mazoch. Pallbearers will be Jared Bourque, Clay Lambert, Leigh Johnson, David Carmouche, Timothy Carmouche, Josh Fontenot, Lex Sweeney, and Nathan M.
