A loving husband and devoted father, he passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010. He was 47 and a resident of Prairieville. He was a member of the Army National Guard and an oiler with Cooper T. Smith Stevedoring Co. Visiting will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, Thursday, Jan. 14, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Galvez. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kim Montero Hunkin; son, Austin Hunkin; father, Andres Paulino; and five sisters, Rose Marie Hunkin, Ata Samarron, Lisa Jones, Grace Medine and Stephanie Bennett. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Raven Hunkin; and mother, Miriama Pele. Pallbearers will be Chad Medine, Grant Medine, Alex Medine, Dale Wells, Jeffrey Roach and John Hollis.
