Jerry Joseph Broussard

Jerry Joseph Broussard, 66, died Thursday, July 7th at his St. Amant home, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born on March 20, 1950, in Abbeville, LA, to Freddie and Pauline Broussard. He graduated from Vermillion Catholic High School in 1968 and went on to a radiologic technology program in New Orleans, in which he graduated with top honors. He worked as a radiologic technologist in the emergency room for over 40 years in New Orleans and in the Baton Rouge area. He enjoyed working with and helping to teach students and residents alike. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and woodworking. Most importantly, he loved spending his days with his family. He is survived by his wife, Lisa; 5 children, Ashley Avants, Sommer Broussard, Lindsay Trawick, Ross Broussard, Robin Thompson; 9 grandchildren, Chase, Cameron, Casey, Liam, Quinn, Elle, Avery, Madison, Lanie; siblings Isabelle Crinklaw, Bradley Broussard, Kim Broussard. He is preceded in death by parents, Freddie and Pauline Broussard; sisters, Jane Furlow and Freddie Ann Bossley, wife, Rosanna Danos Broussard, daughter, Cassie Broussard. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Compassus Hospice and Dr. Denzil Moraes and staff. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA, from 9:00 am until Memorial Mass at 11:00am.
