Jerry L. McGrew

A native of Mississippi and resident of Dutchtown, he passed away at his home, Friday, January 13, 2012 at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Roussel McGrew; mother, Altee Harrington McGrew; daughters and sons-in-law, Erin McGrew and Jason Bennett, Lauren Lynn McGrew and Gregory Cole; sisters, Elaine McFarland, Barbara Milter, Diane Vidrine, Deloris Simms, Charlene Newman, Linda McGrew; brother, Don McGrew; grandchildren, Hannah Fork, Mary Carbo, Caleb Bennett, Aidan Cole, Leah Bennett and Anna Cole. Preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin McGrew; brother, Frank McGrew. There will be a visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Gyan, celebrant. Entombment will be in Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Jason Bennett, Gregory Cole, Don McGrew, Lewis Roussel, Jeff Sergent, Willie LeBouef, Paul Vidrine, Will Simms, and Allen Rome. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Stagg, Dr. Lauve and Dr. Russell and their "angels on duty" for at Medical Oncology and Pennington Cancer Center and to St. Joseph Hospice and the Carpenter House for their guidance, care and compassion.
