

Jerry J. Patterson Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on December 25, 1943, Jerry lived a full and hardworking life centered around family, dedication, and a competitive spirit that defined him.
Jerry was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline Patterson, with whom he shared nearly 63 years of marriage, memories, and devotion to family.
He spent much of his career as a skilled iron worker and later retired from Deep South Crane and Rigging. Known for his strong work ethic and determination, Jerry took great pride in his work and the life he built through years of dedication.
Outside of his career, Jerry had many passions. In his younger years, he was an outstanding basketball player in Maurepas High School and earned the honor of being named an All-State player. His competitive nature stayed with him throughout his life and was evident in everything he pursued.
Jerry also enjoyed working as a strawberry farmer, a role that brought him great satisfaction. He also became well known for raising beagle dogs, producing many champion dogs over the years—something he was extremely proud of and passionate about.
Above all else, Jerry loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Patterson; his son, Jerry “Jiggers” Patterson Jr.; his grandchildren, Ashley Patterson Spier and Hayley Jubin (Jesse); his great-grandchildren, Rowan Jubin and Lillie Jubin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Addie and Jesse Patterson, and his brothers, Jay Patterson and Lloyd Patterson Sr.
Pallbearers will be Greg Patterson, Butch Patterson, Ricky Patterson, Johnny Nunnery, Mike Brown, and Jr. Aydell. Honorary pallbearer will be Anthony “Anky” Delatte.
Jerry will be remembered for his strength, competitive spirit, love of family, and the many lives he touched throughout the years. His legacy will live on through those who knew and loved him. He will surely be missed by family, friends, and dogs.
Visitation for Mr. Patterson will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00, with service to follow at 11:00 AM. The committal service will take place immediately following the funeral service.
