A native and resident of Whitehall, he passed away at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was a retired welder for a shipyard. He was 66. Visiting will be at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Whitehall on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jason Palermo. Burial at Whitehall Community Cemetery. Survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Geraldine Fontenot Bourgeois, of St. Amant, and Mary and Guy Villnurve, of Whitehall; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerry and Debra Fontenot, of Cumming, Ga., and J.A. and Jackie Fontenot, of Whitehall; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Jerome E. and Josephine M. Delatte Fontenot; and a sister, Ethel Fontenot Vicknair. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
