Joy Ann Bernadas LeBlanc, age 96, of Gonzales, La, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Joy was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was a feisty lady who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, was a sharp bridge player, and loved gardening, sewing, and crafting. She is survived by her six children, Sharon Kernan (Hubert), Lynn Ramsey (Jerry), Lisa Greer (James), Evans Bernadas (Frances), Joell Hebert (Mike), and Renee Schexnayder (Troy); her sister Barbara ‘Dottie’ Savoy and brother Terry Gautreaux. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, David Kernan, Bryan Kernan, Lesley Kernan, Kristy Kernan, Tresha Ramsey, Jered Ramsey, Larry J. Andre III, Ryan Andre, Jeremy Greer, Brittany Herrington, Jeremy Bernadas, Shana Hall, Jerrell Ingalls, Cody Broussard, Jason Hebert, Michael Mayon, Shelly Schexnayder, and Amy Schexnayder; 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Evans "J.E." Gautreaux, Sr. and Lillian Blouin Gautreaux; husbands Levert Bernadas and Sully LeBlanc; brothers Joseph Evans "J.E." Gautreaux, Jr. and Sgt Thomas Gautreaux; sisters Catherine G. Stonaker and Nell G. Babin; daughter-in-law Janet M. Bernadas; and two great-grandchildren Logan Ramsey and Dru Mayon. A visitation for Joy will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 9 AM to 11 AM with Mass of Christian burial at 11 am at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N Burnside Ave, Gonzales, La. Joy will be laid to rest in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, 604 E. Hwy 30, Gonzales, La. Pallbearers will be Jered Ramsey, Ryan Andre, Jeremy Bernadas, Benjamin Bernadas, Jerrell Ingalls, and Cody Broussard. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales, La.
