

Karen "Cuz" Savage Smith passed away Friday, July 8, 2011. She was a resident of Prairieville and a native of Melville. She was the co-owner of Gonzales Industrial X-Ray. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Edward O. Smith Jr.; daughter, Gwen Johnson Richard and husband Danny, of Eunice; two sons, Trey Smith, and Chris McClelland and wife Melissa, all of Prairieville; brother, Dan Harold Savage and wife Ann, of Woodstock, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Lindsey, Cade and Ashlyn Richard, all of Eunice, and Kaitlin and Karlee McClelland, both of Prairieville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis "Sambo" and Shirley Goudeau Savage; and brother, Richard E. Savage. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales. Visitation will move to Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home, Opelousas, on Sunday, July 10, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and continue Monday, June 11, from 8 a.m. until funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Bellevue Memorial Park, Opelousas. Pallbearers will be Babbie Savage, Coby Savage, Brad Savage, Skip Noel, Tracey Johnson and James Savage; Honorary pallbearer is Cade Richard.
