Kenneth Paul Smith Sr.

Kenneth Smith Sr., a life-long resident of Gonzales, La. passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the age of 84. He was a wonderful husband, father, step-father, grandfather and neighbor. He proudly served in The United States Air Force. He worked for Rubicon, Georgia Pacific and Georgia Gulf in Operations and as a Supervisor until he retired. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking (he cooked the best Jambalaya), photography and watching LSU sports. He enjoyed dancing especially with his late wife, Gail Sims Smith. He longed for the day they would jitterbug together again. Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenneth “Paul” Smith Jr. and wife Monica Pita Smith and his daughter, Sheila Smith Sauve; 4 grandchildren, Sean Sauve and wife Veronica Tineo Sauve, David Sauve, Angela Sauve Lewnau and husband William, and Stefani Ramirez and husband Sergio and 3 great grandchildren, Sergio Ramirez Jr., Sofia Ramirez and Stefen Ramirez. He is also survived by sister, Sandra Smith Petite, sister-in-law, Martha Jo Scales, brother-in-law, Mark Warden Davis and wife Lisa and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gail Sims Smith and his parents, Kenneth L. Smith and Doris Arceneaux Smith. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
