Lawrence W. Cannon, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 26th, 2024. Lawrence was married to his beloved wife, Marie Delaune Cannon, for 61 years, and together they were blessed with four children: Brett Cannon, Shane Cannon, Carey Cannon (Becky), and Angela Alessi (Lee). Their family expanded with the joy of nine grandchildren: Amanda Cannon, Brittany Cannon, Brandon Cannon, Jermie Joseph, Rod Hunt, Crystal Hankins, William Cannon, Blaine Hebert, Claire Hebert, and six great-grandchildren. Lawrence's commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather, finding immense joy in nurturing and supporting his loved ones. His dedication extended beyond his family circle; Lawrence was deeply committed to his faith and community. He was an active Holy Rosary Catholic Church member, where he generously offered his time and talents to various ministries. Among these, the Mission Committee held a special place in his heart. Lawrence played a pivotal role in establishing this committee, which embarked on missions to aid the less fortunate in different parts of the world. He also was a member and served as a Past Grand Knight of K.C. Council 6389. Professionally, Lawrence was a successful businessman, having owned and operated Southern Maintenance Inc. for over 40 years. Lawrence is survived by his devoted wife, four children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Carolyn Bourgeois and Brenda Sterling, and two brothers, Wilton Cannon and C.J. Bourgeois. He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Cannon and Marcie Stevens Cannon, and a brother, Leo Cannon. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 Hwy 429, St. Amant, LA 70774, with visitation from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. Pallbearers include Brett Cannon, Shane Cannon, Carey Cannon, Brandon Cannon, Blaine Hebert, and William Cannon.
