Lawton B. Johnson

A resident of Gonzales, he passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013. He was 84 years old, a retired voting machine mechanic with the state of Louisiana, and a veteran of the US Air Force. He is survived by three daughters, Sheila Halker, Linda Braud, and Kathy Sanders and husband, Tony; son, Johnny Johnson and wife, Judy; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Pete Bourque; two sisters-in-law, Clara Ann Johnson and Wilma Johnson; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bourque Johnson; his parents, Ellis Perry and Anna Nickens Johnson; and two brothers, Perry and Jerry Johnson. A visitation will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Rubin Reynolds, celebrant. Burial will follow in Cornerview Cemetery in Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Jaime Gautreau, Barry Braud, Jeremy Johnson, Seth Young, Stephen Sanders, and Bryan Sanders.
