Lillian Mary Monson Piper

A selfless, loving mother and grandmother, she passed away August 5, 2011, at the age of 88. She was a native of Baton Rouge, resident of Gonzales, and faithful parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales. Her life was her family, and she was incredibly devoted to her special needs son Dale. She loved working outside in her yard with her flowers and cooking for family gatherings. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Francis Dale Piper, Daryl Lee Piper Sr. and Carol, James Randall “Randy” Piper and Audrey; daughter, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Arceneaux; grandchildren, Jason Beck, Brittany Beck White, Tiffany Beck Woodward, Bradie Michelle Arceneaux, Kelsey Rene Arceneaux, Skye Piper Babin, Shasta Piper, Daryl Lee Piper Jr., Chetta Donaldson; great grandchildren, Braysen Babin, Jayden White, Reed Babin, Aubree Babin, Barrett Babin, Madix Woodward, Myer Woodward, Brennan Rayborn, Christopher Piper, Destiny Donaldson, Dayton Donaldson; sisters, Elizabeth Yelverton and Mary Susan Comeaux; and brothers, Charles Monson, Eagle Monson, Paul Monson. Preceded in death by her husband, Zacharia “Jack” Francis Piper; grandson, Joel Piper; son-in-law, Brady Arceneaux; sisters, Mercedes Dugas and Helen Gomez; brothers, Andrew Monson and John Monson; parents, Laura Ramirez and Paul Monson; and a sister-in-law, Mary Monson. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Sunday, August 8, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, Monday, August 9, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Rubin Reynolds, celebrant. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be Jason Beck, Jared White, Daryl Piper Jr., Wade “Woody” Woodward, Justin Roddy, Jordan Lambert, and Jared Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Morales and Derek Duplessis.
